When I bought my truck in Minnesota I got 20-21 mpg on the commute to va. now I'm around 18 average but I have added some weight and heavy tires.

5.0 screw 4x4 3.73s got 19.4 on a tank recently. Was avg 21.2 for a while and traffic congestion brought it down to 19.4. It will get 21 all day at 55mph

My best is 21.7 mpg hand calculated. 150 mi trip on the freeway, 70 mph. Screw 4x2 w/ 3.55's.

This was the best I have seen out of mine... 70 mph and people were flying past me. I have 3:55 gears and 4x4

And watch the performance and mpg's improve.

Leveled 5.0 Scab 4wd with 3.55 gears and Cooper S/T Maxx 275/70/18 tires.
Both my best and worst tanks of gas occurred on my trip from North Carolina to Arizona.
Worst: 10.2 mpg at 70-75 mph against a brutal head wind driving across New Mexico.
Best: 23.5 mpg at 75 mph with a hefty tail cross wind driving across New Mexico.
My average for the entire 4000 mile trip which included in town and trail driving came out to 17.1 .
My normal around home tank runs more or less right on 16 mpg.

21.7 hand calculated with 721 miles on the tank, 90% interstate @ 72mph and 10% stop and go traffic for an hour. Was at 22.9 on the dash before the traffic. Scab 4x4 with 3.55's and about 1000# of people/cargo. Best "short trip" was 25.5 @ 60mph on 2 lane blacktop country roads for 250 miles.
