Changed the first at 5000 and going to do 10000 or when the IOLM tells me sooner moving forward. This is what the manual states and I only plan on keeping this truck for 4yrs anyways. Dealer used motorcraft oil and said it was a blend. Don't plan on checking oil too often.

Well I just changed it anyways (I was bored) with motorcraft syn blend and I'll change it again at 10k. Also, I'll keep an eye on the dipstick. RiverRat you are correct that it is hard to get an accurate read on the dipstick because of its location. RDFTS, I plan on keeping my truck longer than 4 years so therefore I change it more than what the computer states.

On another note, I was surprised on the price of the ford motorcraft syn blend oil at walmart. $32 for 8 quarts isn't bad.
