I'd say the turbo 2.7l. Oh wait, still to soon to start that debate.

I asked myself this same question, read all of the stories and went ahead with the EB. My take is this. For normal driving and towing you wont go wrong either way. However I was and still am impressed how towing my boat went from my foot in the throttle to climb hills or to get going from a start to just stepping on the gas and go. EB seems effortless to me , I have to actually watch my speed for fear of speeding ticket while towing my 3400lbs boat down the highway.

That explains the third brake light leak.

Oh god we are screwed.

Yes it does. If Ford would have been allowed to keep it simple with the basic 2 brake lights there would be no leak. GD technology.

If power is your main concern, the cheapest way to the biggest power is the EB with a custom tune.

That said, the 5.0 is a very capable engine and I do not think you will feel that it lacks power.

Take em for a fun drive and see which you like better... rinse and repeat if you haven't settled. If after that, you still have not settled, flip a coin.

I currently own a 2012 eco boost and love the way it drives. I have not drove a 5.0 but I did in fact drive a 2014 5.7 hemi the other day and was not impressed with the power at all. Was pretty surprised actually. Since the eco boost makes all it's power in the 2500rpm range it makes it really nice to drive.

my only complaint is that the f150 throttle calibration and shifting strategies leave alot to be desired stock.

I love my 2011 EB FX4 Supercab. Amazing power throughout for climbing steep grades and towing yet gets great gas mileage on the highway. Granted I have left my truck stock. It was a hard choice for me because I wanted the v8 rumble but both are a great choice! The EB was at the right place at the right time and it ran great so I bought it! Good luck! (the EB runs better in higher elevations in my experience)
