Default 4x4 shifts into Low range.

I have been having an issue with my 2012 XLT when shifting into 4x4. When i try to shift into 4H it has been giving me the "Check 4x4" code and then it shifts into 4L. It was working fine even after I replaced my driver side wheel bearing cartridge, but has since started having this issue. If it does shift into 4H the "Check 4x4" error still shows up, but If i shut my truck off and restart it it will stay in 4H and the error code goes away. Any ideas, I was thinking its a position sensor problem but after reading some post here i'm not so sure.

I would start with the selector switch in the dash. It fairly inexpensive and very easy. If that isn't it it may be the shift motor on the transfer case. That is very simple too just a little more money. Switch I believe was about $30 and the motor goes between $150 and $300.

Does anyone know if the position sensor is available by itself? My shift motor works just fine, but obviously my position sensor is bad due to the fact that it tries to shift all the way into 4L when switched to 4H.
