Default 4x4 and growling noise

I recently just bought a used 2014 eco boost with 89,000 miles. I noticed when going between 10-20 I get an intermittent growling noise from the front end. I first started with changing the check valve and that didn't fix it. I jacked the truck up and the iwe on both sides are engaging but I am still able to rotate the tire and cv axel. When in 4 wheel it doesn't lerch on dry ground like I am used to. Idk where to go from here besides take it to a dealer.. any advice out there.. thanks in advance

Does the noise go away when in 4x4?

I originally thought it did but no it doesn't go away in 4 wheel drive. Last night I changed the transfer case motor thinking maybe that was the issue with not "feeling" like it's in 4 wheel and the noise. 4 wheel feels fine but the growling growning noise is still there.

Thank you for your reply I am at a loss short of continuing to shotgun mechanic this replacing everything to see what works
