Default 4wd to 2wd swap

I am somewhat regretting getting a FX4, should have got a FX2. How much work would it be to swap my 4wd to 2wd? Maybe trade someone that has 2 and wants 4wd.

Can't really say I understand why you'd want to do that? Just keep er in 2wd.

Yeah.
Plus I can't see why you wouldn't want 4x4 there. Like Scotty said just keep it in 4x2

Want to build a prerunner. More options and more travel out of 2wd.

Same. I was unaware raptors were 2wd. Is Brad Derbeti's trophy raptor made pre runner 2wd? Something tells me no.

Not too sure where you heard this my friend.

Every kit made gets a minimum of 2" more travel and is less expensive for 2wd. Less things to break in the front end as well without 4wd. What does the Raptor have to do with anything?

I kind of see what you mean, I'd assume it would be the cv shafts restricting travel and making the difference in extreme suspension travel. I'd sooner look into a way to just remove those if possible and seal the front diff, but again that'd be for extreme travel. I'll admit I don't know much about pre-runner builds but would 4x4 really be a bad thing? Haha I mean the things are meant to be put through terrain trying to stop you.

I used the raptor because it's the only factory off road truck, it's not even a pre runner, those do need to be built. However most are built on a truck with 4wd, LIKE the raptor. Google brad derbeti, watch some vids or whatever you have to do, then tell me 2wd is better for a pre runner than 4wd. I don't know what kind of terrain you plan on tackling with a 2wd truck then call it a pre runner.

Thank you Scotty. I could always build it and not worry about front axles, technically having only 2wd. I was just curious if I could sell the front diff and transfer case to get a little cash for the build. 4wd is not a bad thing, just more expensive to build right and more to break when actually getting used.
