Man, i cant type, a spacer is no way to lift compared to a real lift with drop brackets, etc. You do not want a spacer on your strut, that will stiffen the ride too much and change diff angles.

Definitely stiffens things up....I'm running a 2.5" leveling kit right now......the ride and wear is my main reason for wanting to step up to a real lift

This is partially true actually. My understanding is that with the RCX kit, it is only a 4" drop bracket so they can use the same drop bracket with a 4" or 6" kit, the difference being the size of the strut spacer. The 4" will give you stock geometry, but the 6" will be geometry like a 2" leveling spacer.

I have a 4" Rancho kit because I think the kit is high quality and because I think 35s look better on 4" lift. So, I guess it really depends which setup you think looks the best. Also, the Rancho kit is known to give slightly more than 4" of lift.

Haha thanks man! Another thing to consider if price is a concern, is that Rancho typically offers a $400 rebate in March and April. I got mine last year at the end of April and got the rebate. After the rebate, my total cost was $1364. The price has gone up slightly though since last year (less than $100 though I believe).
Edit to add pics for any future searches:

This is mine with a Zone.Personally and just my opinion I wouldn't do a lift with a 6" strut spacer. All these struts from any of these companies will deteriorate over time and replacements can be got.I got this kit from SBC OFF-ROAD for $1400.

Randy that is a super sharp truck man! Of all the lift kits I think this is probably my fav and what I woulda went with but I was too in hurry to wait for the rebate. The one piece cradle design is what I like best about this kit.Good looking truck!!!
