Default 4" lift... I know its beaten to death but read on if you have time

I am looking for some fairly specific pictures if possible. I'm going to be dumping my level shortly and going with a 4" lift. I'll use rough country because of the price and the fact that I don't care about the rear blocks because I don't need them anyways. I am wanting to keep my stock rims though, and I am running 285/65/18 upgrading to 295 when these wear out. Anybody still running stock 18's on their 4" lift? Something closer to a 33" tire, not 35. Pics if possible?

I did a search, but for whatever reason my phone hates the pictures and just pukes up a "connection error" every time. Haven't found a resolution yet and my laptop is at work

You might wanna do some research on rims. Most of the lift kits specifiy an amount of backspacing for clearance of the new knuckles.

Edit: Looks like I was incorrect about that. Deleted the incorrect statement.

Yeah, I'm going to dig a bit deeper. I contacted rough country and they said the stock are fine, but its rare to see it, so there must be a reason nobody uses them other than looks. Thanks for the heads up!

The rancho lifts say you can use stock 18's or 20's. Rough Country recommends a 8" wide wheel with 4.5-5" back space which is 0-12mm offset.

Stock wheels are 7.5 wide with a 44mm offset, which is 6"s of backspace. It sounds like the stock wheels wont clear the new knuckles. But you could check with Rough Country to make sure.

If you had access to your computer, you could download the spreadsheet/pdf that I put together, and search for specific posts listed in the tire and wheel fitment thread. I just checked the chart, and I didn't see anyone in the thread that uses stock wheels with a 4" lift

*Edit, looks like you've done some homework regarding stock wheels.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to grab that spreadsheet and have a look. May go rancho instead if its going to work better. The little extra cost if any would be better than new wheels.

Appreciate the input guys

I have a RC 6" and hate it ha rides crazy rough and horrible angles( maybe bc they probley used the same diff drop and steering knuckles as their 4") but that's somethin you should watch for. I have heard nothing bad about the ranching set up and they have great shocks from what I have heard. Get the rancho

Yeah- I saw another rough country 6 on here with crazy angles, so I'm avoiding the 6. I may go with a 4 from rancho by the looks of it. Thanks.

Here is a 4" Rancho lift with 33" Nitto Grapplers. I will be going with 35's once these tires wear out but for now I think it looks fine. 2 thumbs up for the Rancho lift. I am very happy with it.
