4 or 6 inch BDS
Here is the information. I have a 2013 F150 Lariat, 4X4 with off-road package. I have a 2 inch level, stock 18s and 295x75r18s on it. The pics don't show (didn't have it yet) I am putting on 1.5inch Bora spacers all around as well. Here is my conundrum and I would appreciate any pics on equivalent lifts (regardless of manufacturer) on the same tire/wheel setup.
I am looking to get a BDS 4 or 6 inch lift with fox rear shocks and front fox coilovers. I don't do a ton of HEAVY off-roading, but do my share. I like to get in and out of my hunting areas without any worries/issues. I do get deep sometimes (not running, but standing water/mud). I also drag my skid plates sometimes, so I am looking for some more height.
I love the wheels and tires. The tires are already 34.41 inches tall so insignificant when talking these versus 35s. They are also no thin at all in comparison to the stockers, but they are not 12.5s either. The tire/wheel combo has never failed to get me out of anywhere and although I might put a slightly wider tire on it when I have to replace these I am not looking to put 35x12.5s. I am running 3.55 gearing and with my current setup I tow easily and have plenty of tire. The additional weight of 35s isn't worth the very minor gains in tire effectiveness.
What are your thoughts (especially any pictures) of this tire size on stock 18s with 4 and 6 inch lifts? I don't know if a 6 inch lift might be a little too much for the setup, but I am not sure as I have never lifted one of my trucks before. I buy my vehicles and keep them for decades and plan on doing this with the truck. That is another reason I like to keep this size of shoes on it to avoid overly-excessive wear of even bigger tires as well as want to make this decision once, not a 4 inch now and then a 6 inch later. If it looks good with a 6 inch then I will go that way from the start. Spending the money ($1,700 versus $3,300) isn't any issue, but spending $5,000 for 2 lifts is.
I will be removing my level and if I go with the 6 inch lift I will be using the 5 inch block setup.
Thoughts???
Thanks for any help/insight anybody can offer.

For mud id recommend 6 inch. But for going up mountains and stuff, the 4inch. Just because the 6inch can tip and stuff a lot easier than the 4 inch. I think the 4 inch is more practical. Those are my opinions as a hunter that has been offroading in both.

Id say 4 inch, unless you had a reason you wanted to go with over a 35 inch tire. Sounds like you have the tire issue figured out. I think you will be happy with the 4 inch.

If you have a 2 inch level you won't even notice the difference with a 4 inch lift. I had a 2,5 level and went with the 6. Didn't notice that much of a difference and was actually disappointed but it drove much better that's for sure.

Thanks for the input. I also had somebody photoshop it and think the 4 will be the way to go. It will be enough IF I ever chose to go closer to 35s, and won't be too much if I stay where I am. It will, however, be what I need for what I do. I only wish it didn't cost it didn't cost as much to outfit a 4 inch BDS with the foxes as it costs for a 6 inch BDS with the foxes.

Thanks again all. I will be going with a 4 inch lift. I now have to research with each company as changing from a 6 to a 4 (for my purchase decision) has offered up some new issues.
BDS 4 inch kit is $1,700, requires minor welding and comes with no struts. This kit offers 2 or 4 inch rear blocks so I can have it leveled versus tail low.
Fabtech 4 inch basic kit is $1,400 requires no welding and comes with struts, but the description says that it comes with 2.25 inch blocks and somehow that makes the truck level (or so the description says).
Fabtech 4 inch Dirt logic kit is $2,700, requires no welding and comes with coilovers and dirt logic shocks. It also, however, states in the description that is comes with 2.25 inch blocks.
I even downloaded and checked the installation manual from Fabtech and it states 2.25 inch blocks both in the "parts included" list and during the installation steps. This setup will not give me the level appearance that the description states so I am checking with them if taller rear blocks can be substituted because this is basically replacing the stock blocks with new stock blocks.
I really like the Fabtech as it seems the better quality and option, but not if it isn't what it states.
I have emailed them and await the answer that will help make my decision.
