Default 4.10 super early review

Truck just feels "right" now. Not as extreme in first as I feared, and the on demand power at cruising speed in 6th is incredible. Also the exhaust seems to sound much better just at a friendlier rpm I guess. Doesn't sound like it's droning out when highway cruising now.

As far as I'm concerned, a truck with 6 speeds shouldn't have less than a 4.10 gear. The torque difference after a gear change is always incredible.

What size tires do you have? I'm debating whether to go with 4.10s or shorter.

Edit: never mind I just saw your signature...

So I'm about 125 miles in. Another great thing regarding the gear swap is the way the truck handles hills. I live in a very hilly area, especially my outer road. The truck used to downshift like crazy sometimes finding third gear to get up hills in normal driving circumstances. Now it holds strong in 6th. Just a much nicer driving experience.

I run the stock 275/65/18 right now. Might bump up an inch or so in diameter in the future, but nothing major. I'll probably go with the 4.10s.

I have plenty of aftermarket additions to my truck and I can say, I wish I would have done 4.10's first!

Happy to hear that you're enjoying the 4.10s

I might be the only person who's happy with my stock 3.55s, I can spin the tires in 1st, and I don't mind the truck downshifting to pull hills, most of the time I'm going fast enough that it doesn't down shift anyway lol
