4.10 or 3.73?

The difference between a 4.10:1 and a 3.73:1 ratio is 3/8 of a full turn of the drive shaft.
If you continue to to haul a 3500 lb trailer you won't like the fuel mileage and loss of power if you put 35" tire on the truck.
What kind of boat do you have that weighs 6500 lbs? it must be about 28 ft. long. I realize an F150 will pull it but its going to be tasking it over a long haul. You might should have considered an F250 for your type of hauling.

Yes, going from the stock 32" tire to 34 or 35" tire he will notice a difference, but the 4.10 will be about right for that tire size(34-35). 4.10s with the 32 will be great on the low end(torque), but not so great for mpg as the rpms will be up at cruising speed.

On a side note- Hey RKCrawl... my new gears are getting installed today! At a cost significantly higher than $50!

Thanks to everyone for your comments and advice. Got home too late from work to pull the trigger today, but I think the 4.10 is what I will order. Just seems to be the best way to go for the long haul. I keep my trucks for 12 or more years (well the last two were toyotas, hope the ford treats me as well) I do go offroad and like the clearance taller tires give me and don't want the power loss of large tires without proper gearing nor do I want to incur the expense of a gear change in the future if I can get it right now from the factory. Been there done that. My '86 toyota sittin on 36" swampers provided many lessons for me. It would be nice to do this truck up right from the factory since I can order it with the long term picture in mind. The stealership is waiting for my call and deposit check. Again, thank you all for your input.
