My 2013 had soapy water and debris visible during the warmer weather, so I had the light replaced under warranty during my oil change yesterday. Service Manager said the part number had changed, mechanic said "the foam was thicker". Hopefully the new one won't have the same issue, I found it unsightly.

This issue has been lingering since the previous generation. My. '07 had the problem. When the truck was a month old I sealed it up with rtv and prayed the bulb wouldn't burn out because I knew it was going to be messy to change lol. Traded it in last year and luckily never did have to change it.

Just spoke with dealer today, asked about other gasket and was told they just use silicone, at least my dealer does.

I just had my 3rd brake light replaced under warranty. 2013 SCAB 5.0 6000 miles. I noticed condensation and even a few small dead bugs in there but I never found a leak or any water damage inside.

I have a 2013 Super crew, and I have not noticed any leaks in the cab, however the light itself has some green mildew or alge or whatever inside of it. I noticed when I was washing my car and soap was getting in there. So its not worth going to the dealer for? I dont think the mounting gasket is leaking, I just dont want a swampy light housing on my new (to me) truck.

My 2013 was getting mildewed back behind the light so I took it in the dealer and they replaced it

Mine used to leak too. I unbolted it and found the oem gasket had shrunk in on the RH side which let water in. I dried it out and when I reinstalled it I used black silicone in the area were the gasket had shrunk. At the same time I installed two red LED's in the fixture to emulate the Raptor look for basically pennies.

We have had a lot of rain since I fixed mine and it has yet to leak.

Default Cleaning Headliner

I noticed a couple of people say they cleaned the water stains from the headliner. I was wondering how they did it and what the results were. I have a 2010 King Ranch and after a hard rainstorm, the leak happened and the whole backseat is pretty much ruined.

Default 3rd brake light water leak fix

1/4 closed cell foam from Lowes sold as door and window seal. Start at the bottom center of the brake light and lay a single piece all the way around. Clean the truck surface. Tighten the two screws until snug.
