35's too big for the drivetrain in my 09 150?
So going from a SD on 35's to a stock 09 150. Looking for a lift I see that they are fairly inexpensive. Looks like with a small lift and some trimming 35's would fit. Originally I was thinking 33's, but does anyone have experience with 35's? Too big for a whimpy half ton tranny and axles? This truck is by no means a street truck, and this is Canada, we have 2 seasons here, 3 feet of snow and 3 feet of mud lol. So this truck is driven very hard.

I Like Tires
35's are certainly no problem. Their are guys on this forum with 12" lift kits and 40" tires.
Depending on your axle ratio however you may want to re-gear for 35s. I would say anything taller than 3.55 needs a re-gear.

I had bfg km2 on mine with a 2" level and airbags in the back iwork in the oil patch and never once had a problem with my 35 12.5 18 I didn't trim anything on it the only thing different I would have done is chained the front mud flaps back, I know have 33 only because I got a deal

The 33'' is the ones with the pump jack and the 35'' is the one at the gas station

35s are no problem as long as you have 3.73s or 4.10s if you got 3.55 you'll wanna regear to 4.10 or 4.56 I have a 6" lift and 35s with the stock 3.73s and I have no problem chirping them with my performance tunes from MPT and still hold gears reasonably well also I live on a mountain so I'm always driving uphill
