Default 34" Tires, which rim, 17" (raptor), 18", or 20"

So as the title suggests, I've been thinking on getting some larger tires. I'll be running a set of 5100's for level. I've been looking at tires in 34" tall range with a width of 11" or so, but I will go a bit wider if I have too.

The tires I've been looking at are Nitto Terra's, Goodyear Duratac's, and Falken Wild Peak? (can't remember for sure off the top of my head).

For now I'm thinking stock wheels. I have 18's now, but my Brother in law likes mine over his 20's so I could probably just swap straight over. But I may do aftermarket too.

I know most of it is personal preference, but which one would you do?

I've been surfing the Tire & Wheel fitment guide, but as you know it's pretty frickn' huge (even with the help of my spreadsheet). So if someone wants to post pics of their setup that'd be cool.

It looks like at that size I'd have to run a LT tire, so I wonder if the sidewall difference between them is going to change the ride all that much.

Anyway, TIA

My vote is get some raptor wheels and tires! I also might just have a complete set of wheels for sale so I might be a little biased

If I could have found as good a deal on Raptor wheels/tires as I did on my FX4 18"s wheels/tires I would have gotten the Raptors. I like the newer Raptor wheels the best.

I just went from 20s with a sidewall of 55 to 24s with a sidewall of 35 and I didn't notice any ride difference and I'm currently in Michigan where the roads are crap so maybe it's just too bumpy to notice a small difference, lol!

Just curious, why does your truck say 'FX6'? Is it because it has a six inch lift and that was the "dealer package"? I've never seen that before.

Here's mine. These are duratrac 315/70R17 on my stock 17 wheels

Do y'all like the chrome look better or blacked wheels and blacked grill?

Thanks everybody for your input, I was away this weekend from my computer, so I didn't have the chance to respond.

It's funny I know there are some people that prefer a large wheel with little rubber showing, and other like smaller wheels with more rubber showing, but I like either depending on the truck. I'm just trying to decide which one I want for my truck.

I like the look of cwsartain's blacked out, along those lines, how much did your mpg drop? I know I'm going to lose some and that's ok, I'm just curious what I'd be looking at.

On the other hand, I think I'll eventually get a lift, probably only a 4", which means I'll probably have to go with at least a 18", but I think most lifts call for a 20", but I don't remember off hand.

Quick Reply: 34" Tires, which rim, 17" (raptor), 18", or 20"
