Default 315,000 km checkup

I've always made a habit of doing a lot of my own maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotation on my 2012 3.5EB Plat, stuff like that as I have a hoist at my shop. Figured after 315,000 kms I'd have a garage down the street from my business grease the slip yoke etc, and go over the vehicle front to back to see what it would need to pass a safety, should I decide to sell, or just for piece of mind. The ONLY thing they found was a ball joint that was a little off, but was still within spec. This truck has been great since I bought it new 5+ years ago, and as much as I like the thought of a new one, has given me zero reasons to deal it.

Great news - I hope my '13 holds up as well as yours has!

What do you do for rust control in the winter?

I oil undercoat the truck every spring and fall with dripless oil. The fall session I pull out the front and rear light assembles so the spray gets all the way into the fenders at the backs. There isn't one mark on this truck yet.315,000 km checkup-muffs-truck-pic-2-july-31-2017.jpg

Impressive. What kind of oil, intervals, etc do you use? How many sets of tires have you gone through, and what do you do that you have almost 3 times the average kilometers on your truck?
If you spend that much time in it, i can see why you got a platinum.

Very nice truck, sir. Has the engine given you any problems? My '11 5.0 just rolled 308,000k. Routine maintenance and it's still running strong.

Thanks.I probably have 20 coats of liquid glass on the truck, I would imagine, and its always garaged when not in use. I've been using Kendall full synthetic for a while now. As for the tires, I think I'm I'm on my 5th set. I use the stock rims as winters, and after the 3rd winter I switched them over to my summer rims, as the summer tires were getting worn. I'm a Contractor, and have a lot of sites to oversee, hence all the kms.

I had the intercoolers replaced under warranty at about 55,000 kms, otherwise no real issues. Regular maintenance and its been good to go. Sounds like you've had the same good fortune in regards to your truck.
