Default 305/70/17s on stock rims

I posted this is the Tire and Wheel section with no responses. I thought I would post it here to see if I get any responses, before I settle for the "safe" bet.

What's the deal with 305/70/17s on stock rims (I know several guys here are running them)? It seems that the people who run this combination really like the tire in the beginning, but their later posts seem to signal a little remorse in choosing the 305/70/17.

If you run 305/70/17 on your F-150, what's the verdict? Do you recommend the application? Would you do it again?

Also (for anyone running 305/70/17s on a 2010, F150) are you sure that you are not seeing any rub on the upper "A" frame? There's not a lot of clearance on upper "A" frame on the stock 265/70/17s.

My truck: 2010 XLT, 4x4, 2" level kit, 3.55 gears.

I have that size of tire in a BFG km2. They are awesome for off road use lots sidewall nice wide footprint. A little heavier than a stock tire. Can't tell you about rubbing as I have aftermarket ucas. Lots of people have 305/55/20s and say that fits...
