3.7 to 5.0 swap

Just wondering if anyone on here has done a 5.0 swap from a 3.7? Considering it for my '13. I know everyone just says to trade it in for a 5.0 but the truck has sentimental value and is almost paid off. I'd like to find a donor truck and make it 4wd while I'm at it. Does anyone have experience with the harness? Would the entire harness need to be replaced or just the portion that plugs into the firewall? I understand the computer wil need to be replaced. Just curious, thanks!

If you have deep pockets anything can be done.

It would be much cheaper to buy a 5.0 truck. The cost of the swap would be very expensive. Yes it's possible but once again not worth the cost.

4wd AND 5.0l swap... Just trade it in... It would be cheaper.

As above, trade it in. The 5.0 swap is probably easier than the 4wd swap. If your heart is dead set on it buy a wrecked 5.0/4wd truck with a good frame and the same cab and bed configuration. Swap your cab and box onto the new frame and call it a day.

Everyone says to trade it in for reason.

All of that^^

Sentimental value aside,if the truck is almost paid off,the extra cost on trade for a 5.0 4x4 would be probably be right around what it would cost to convert your current truck over to a 5.0 4x4,maybe a few dollars cheaper, maybe a few dollars more. Also consider your time doing that swap and that you could run into problems doing the swap and the whole thing just become a headache/nightmare.
My advice? Trade it for a 5.0 4x4.

if you had to put a $$ value on the "sentimental value", what would it be ?

I can promise you that you will spend at least 10-15k on that swap. Your going to spend at a minimum 5-7k on a donor truck that has all the parts on it you will need. Then you will pay a shop AT LEAST that much to swap everything over and make it work. Basically you better have a TON of money and not care how much it cost you before you even get into that project.
