Unhappy 3.5L Ecoboost Problems

Been hearing lately about individuals that purchased their F-150's with the Ecoboost motor having issues and not being happy after paying a premium price for their trucks. When I was shopping around for my 2011 F-150 Screw with the off-road package the dealership tried to sell me the Ecoboost motor. I told the sales woman that I would not own a fullsize pickup with a V6 motor. I told her there is no replacement for displacement. Plus I told her you have a new motor with new technology, I was not going to be a test bed for Ford. I am very happy with the 5.0 all aluminum motor 360hp , 3.73 rearend with tow packaged, 4x4 offroad package, and I get 20 highway, 17.5 city for gas mileage. I think Ford sold everyone a bill of goods with their Ecoboost motor. I told the sales woman that the Ecoboost motor is great in a passenger car but would not stand the test of time in a pickup. Im glad for the choice I made. Feel a little sad for those who did not. Bill

For f*** sake!

So much fail here..

Why do people complain about ecoboost problems when they don't even have them?

I love that quote, but I wouldn't stand behind it.

Lol. It's called forced induction. Not like the 5.0L hasn't had it's share of problems too.

Why do people feel compelled to troll?

Why not? A forced induction coyote will wax an ecoboost.

Waiting for eb owners and their "but we have two less cylinders" excuses.

No doubt it would. But there's a line between economy and performance that created the market for a FI V6 in a Full Size truck.

Frankly, I'm surprised the Raptor wasn't build with a FI V8, but only a NA 6.2L. That would be insane. And yes, I own an EB, very happy with it. Not knocking the Coyote, just prefer the extra torque.

Why do people throw "troll" out there when someone disagrees with them in a forum?

I'm hardly a troll.

I'm simply saying that relying on displacement to always trump is a bit archaic.

EDIT: At the end of the day, to each their own. I love my 5.4L and if I ever do replace it, it will not be with the EcoBoost. After driving each engine, I preferred the PowerStroke.

At the end of the day....powerstroke is not even relavent to the"f150" lineup. Just saying
And the 5.4 had/has it's own fair share of problems...just saying
Edit...i dont think you are a troll....but the OP definetly is TROLLING!
