Default 3.5l ecoboost is junk

So i was very impressed with the 3.5 ecoboost ever since it came out but i have been working at a ford dealership for over a year now and i am very disappointed with how many come in for problems. Its one thing after another first it was turbos, then they suck up water, next was bad smell of fuel in the oil, after that was carbon build up issue, they throw rods like crazy i saw 3 in 2 months. Then today there was one with timing chain issue its just one thing after another i am not ******* on the 3.5 eco it just seems very very unreliable .

That sucks...I've owned one sine early 2011 and haven't had a single issue with either of mine.

Same here, my 2011 was flawless, used it like a truck when I was in construction and the only problem was that I loved it too much, one of the best engines ever made. Keep in mind that not everyone keeps up with maintenance.

As a new ecoboost owner I sincerly hope your regular run-ins with the engine are more of a product of it making up more than half the configurations of North America's most popular truck.

Default ecoboost

Hey 20145.oh I also have a 2011 3.5 with about 35,700 miles with ZERO problems. Don't be hating on the ecoboost like that. Dang ecoboost haters. they are just jealous.

User name and number of posts kind of smells like a troll stirrin the puddin, maybe not.
Would like to see what percentage of total sales these "very disappointed with how many come in for problems" account for.
As my sig shows, ecoboost owner, and absolutely thrilled with mine.

Strange in my area it's actually more common to see 5.0 ****ting the bed. Even that 6.2 boat anchor is more reliable.

Dog engine with knocking problems, won't be long until Ford issues massive recall. Might bankrupt them.

I'm a 5.0L owner and I agree... Certainly smells fishy.

Yet you say this in another post

i work at a ford dealership and i see 2011 ecoboost work trucks that are beaten to hell and buried up to the hood in mud come in for just basic work on them and they have 200,000 + miles on them
