Holy cow, these are way under the advertised mpg's on this truck! I was expecting much higher, like closer to 20 average mpg. These numbers are just as bad as my 2008 f-250 with emissions crap still on. Do the 2015+ ecoboosts get much better mileage being lighter weight?

MPG varies. Just drive the damn thing.
The reason for the thread was to make sure what I was getting was on par with everyone else. Like I said earlier I went from 20.8 in my 2017 to now around 15.5 mpg in my 2013. There was a couple initial issues with the truck that I wanted to make sure were taken care of. You said it yourself tho, almost 30 replies and lot of helpful information from the group to help to ease my mind and identify what my truck is equipped with. Then there's the one guy in every thread that can't stand a collective, supportive discussion .

You understand, many guys change tires, and that can have an obvious effect on mileage. My observation with AT tires was the highway mileage dropped at least 2mpgs. 30mph mileage stayed basically the same. Averages out to around 1.5mpg loss overall. Stay with boring tires to get high mpgs, or buy a car. And yes, the lighter 15+ trucks do get better mileage because of less weight. They also love to quote the 2.7EB and claim its mileage equals the whole range of F150s, which obviously isn't accurate.

The main reason they don't get what the EPA rates them at is their waste-of-time test

"The "city" program is designed to replicate an urban rush-hour driving experience in which the vehicle is started with the engine cold and is driven in stop-and-go traffic with frequent idling. The car or truck is driven for 11 miles and makes 23 stops over the course of 31 minutes, with an average speed of 20 mph and a top speed of 56 mph. The "highway" program, on the other hand, is created to emulate rural and interstate freeway driving with a warmed-up engine, making no stops (both of which ensure maximum fuel economy). The vehicle is driven for 10 miles over a period of 12.5 minutes with an average speed of 48 mph and a top speed of 60 mph. Both fuel economy tests are performed with the vehicle's air conditioning and other accessories turned off."

So basically indoors with no weather or road conditions and no type of HVAC running. And what type of highway is 48mph... Even the top 60mph is lower than standard single lane highways here.

Not really. Most people posting are within the EPA ratings. The newer trucks do get better mpgs but then we get get right down to the main point of the matter-the word,"truck" and the phrase, "good fuel mileage" should never co exist and if your purchase hinged on this then you made a bad purchase for your needs.
