My 4x4 EB with MaxTow (3.73) shows ~1900rpm @ 70mph on the dash tach.

Ditto. I chose the MaxTow also for the tow mirrors. Love them.

Great information. I am in the market for an f-150 ecoboost. I will not be purchasing new so finding a 3.73 gear ratio is somewhat challenging. I will be towing a camp trailer about six times a year. My trailer weighs about 4000# loaded. Will I really notice a difference between the 3.55 and the 3.73. The most important factor in this is that I live in Colorado so when I pull it is in the mountains. The vehicle will also be my daily driver. I am currently driving an 09 Silverado with a 5.3 and a 3.42 rear end which seems to struggle quite a bit with mountain passes when pulling.

averym,
That is a pretty light load for an Ecoboost. 3.55 gears should get the job done. I have 3.55's with my 5.0 and tow about 6000# 2-3 times a year. You would have the advantage of the Eco's low end torque and I don't see you having any problems with that kind of load. I also wanted 3.73's when I was looking for my truck, but settled for the 3.55's. I take advantage of the 6 speed transmission and select the gear that's right for the situation. I simply "lock out" 5th or 6th, depending on the situation, when it starts to "hunt" too much. 4th gear is almost the equivalent of a 4.10 final drive ratio and will give you all the grunt you should ever need.

Having just pulled my 25' TT in the Colorado Rockies this past fall, try to find one with 3.73s if you can. Even with that load (mine is somewhere around 6500# loaded) you'll appreciate having the extra gear on some of those passes. Coming over Berthroud Pass, I think I actually hit 2nd gear on a couple of occasions, I remember that I just locked out 5th and 6th coming up over and down the mountain, there was very little point to them at all!
