What is this MPG mod you guys keep talking about? Is it some special mod, that gives the 5.0 more speed to catch an ecoboost? I see those letters a lot on here. It must only apply to a TRUCK. Wonder if this modification will work on an ecoboost engine too.

That would be the Supra Launch imho.
I have owned 9 watersports boats and Tige is far from the bottom. Although I loved my stars and stripes, MC and especially SAN have suffered significantly from poor quality over the last several years.
Too funny that a sizable segment of wakeboat crowd is quite similar to the EB v 5.0 crowd.

Man all I can say is the eco fan club is dedicated. I own one guys and I like it, its a good engine. I still prefer the 5.0 and while both are great it's just my opinion that 5.0 will hold up better for less cost than the eco. The lack of turbos and their heat will be better for long term hard use.

I just hope my new licence place cover don't void my warranty...

I want a 390 in my next truck. An Eco-390. Lol.

That is just you with only keeping trucks for short term. Some of us keep them years and years or 200k miles and expect them to still be up to working hard. I maintain the heck out of my trucks and use them hard too. Long term hard use is what I expect from my trucks and why I buy what I do. Each owner has to decide what works for them. That is why I truly feel the engines are a toss up depending on how you plan to use them and keep them.

Tige is definitely still a tier 3 wakeboat

The ad from 1976 is the most interesting thing in this thread. I still don't get that 1976 EPA rating. The truck had no overdrive, right? I don't see it getting over 15 mpg. Unless leaded fuel back then returned much higher mpg? Most people here probably don't remember leaded fuel, I barely do. Our family car had a 454 back then lol. My dad got that car cheap when the gas prices rose in the late 70's. No one wanted the big blocks anymore.
