What's the model year/mileage of your truck, Rutko? Have you made an appointment to return to your dealer?

Have you considered going to a different Ford Dealership, s_vares? If you need assistance locating one near you, PM me your ZIP code and I'll provide with a list.

I had 2011 4X4 that did this all the time and it was very annoying and embarrassing if someone was with me. You would think top of the line $50K truck would be silky smooth.

I did find a fix for it. As soon as I got it tuned the problem never occurred again. Ran tunes from two different tuners for a total of about 10K miles and the issue never returned.

My '13 has done this at least a dozen or more times. If you are going slow in first gear and let off to go over a speed bump and the truck decides it's time to shift into second gear when you let off it "slams" into second gear.

I've now got 84,000 miles on the truck and am finally learning to get the trans into second before I let off. Sometimes the old brain forgets and it happens again.

Putting the truck into first or second on the selector sounds like a great idea for parking lots. If only I remember to put it back into drive when I exit the lot.

Maybe if I stay out of parking lots with speed bumps I'll do better.

I've had people in the truck when it happens and they go WTF was THAT!?!?! You can't tell where it's coming from - under your feet, in the back, drive shaft, diff, tranny. It feels like tranny to me. I don't think TSB 12-7-13 is going to fix it but I'm happy to have it applied.

It happened again this morning when I was leaving a parking lot and only lightly on the gas through a drainage swale. Not a huge one this time but I still felt/heard it.

I have the same thing. Only on occasion, very light throttle and the 1-2 shift. Always thought it was a programming fault.

I had the exact same issue on my 13' fx4 eco. I'm hoping it may of been cured with the last "calibration" they did with the oil level increase TSB. They actually did the calibration a couple weeks prior to the parts for the TSB arriving and not only did the shifting seem to smooth out I'm getting better mpg too. Nothing spectacular but the last 1500 miles I've gotten about 0.5mpg better...or 4%.

Not sure if this applies to the 5.0's or if it's an Ecoboost thing but I had the occasional rough shift too - mainly the 1-2 or 2-3 shift. As well as the "miss feeling in 6th" and the slip yolk issue.

Had it to the dealer yesterday and they did TSB 13-08-10 and ordered parts for TSB 14-0090. Drove home last night and the truck was shifting beautifully - very, very slight clunking which is probably the slip yolk. No more harsh shifts.

It may be worth popping into the dealer to see if one or both of the TSB applies to you or to have them update you to the latest code. Can't comment on it long term but the 40 mile ride home last night was promising.

Hello. I had my 2011 ECO in to the dealer yesterday, to do a checkup before my 100,000km Warranty is up. They did the TSB on the sensor thinking there was too much oil, and have ordered the parts (PVC valve, hoses, etc) to fix that. The Tech did the flash on the computer (not sure of all the terms) to update it yesterday. Since then, I now notice the harder shift into 2nd gear, and it also seems to take a long while until it shifts into 6th gear (100+km/hr in some cases). Will the computer re-learn the shifting or is there something else the Dealer needs to do, in regards to this update, to bring the shift back to where it was? I also noticed, a week ago, the clunk driving slowly across a parking lot, when I gave it a shot of gas while coasting and it went into 2nd gear. That's only happened once though, but the shifting since yesterday is quite noticeable, same as most here have mentinoed, seems going into 2nd is noticed while slowly accelerating. Don't notice as much if you punch the gas.

My 2011 Eco had a very hard 2nd gear slamming shift. A tune fixed it
