Default 2014 fx4 supercrew 295/60r20 rubbing

So I just had a Motofab 2” leveling kit and 295/60r20 ridge grapplers installed on my stock fx4 rims. The problem
im having is rubbing on both sides at full lock on sway bars. Anyone else having this issue? Fixes? Should I’ve gone with 285/60r20’s? Or 285/65r20’s? I tow my fishing boat a lot and don’t want any rubbing when I’m backing up the trailer and need to go to full lock at times.

Probably a 4" lift would've been better.

4” lift is too high for my liking. I’m hoping to just keep the 2” leveling kit and find the biggest ridge graps that can fit without rubbing

I went with Michelin LTX AT2's, 275-65-20's. They are basically the same height, but yours are an inch wider. My Michelins are the same width as my stock 275-55-20's. The width of your tires is what the problem is. My suspension is stock, except for a front leveling kit. No rubbing whatsoever, better aerodynamics and less weight.

You could put 1/4” wheel spacers. There is a company based in the US that sells some high quality hub-centric ones for around $150. I’ll try to find the website for you. When you level your truck the front track narrows causing rubbing on the sway bar and possibly the UCA depend on how wide your tire is 11.5 being the widest on factory rims to clear. From my experience I put the 295/60r20 ridge grapplers and have the same rubbing you have. I just make sure I don’t
turn at full lock and I almost never have any rubbing.
EDIT: Here’s the link to the forum about them. https://www.f150forum.com/f118/level...ubbing-418221/

Thanks for the info! so I ended up going back to Discount Tire and they swapped out my 295/60 ridge grapplers for 285/60’s and now I have no rub. I do miss the 295’s tho, they looked awesome on the fx4 stock 20’s. I was thinking I should’ve gone with the 285/65’s to keep the 34 inch height, but I’m afraid they might have rubbed too.

So did they only rub at full lock? I can't think of many times where I go full lock... maybe occasionally, but if it only rubs at that point, then I'm ok with that

I have a question though, how is it that some forum members(other forums too) will post a pic a claim that they have absolutely NO rubbing with their new 295/65/20 tires??? Are they lying or what?

Its really just circumstanial. I have zero rub in most conditions. It’s only when the suspension is at full droop which brings the wheels and tires in causing SLIGHT rubbing at full lock. On a flat surface you will never have any issues. I can count on one hand how many times it has happened in the last year since I installed the tires. A 295/65r20 tire is the same story. They are just a bit taller. They may even be a tad skinnier (not sure though) .
