295/60/20, 285/65/20 or 275/65/20

I just went through the same debate you are facing. I was originally looking at 305s but realized I didn't want to go that wide. I went with BFGs in 275/65/20 and really like them. I didn't want tires outside of the wheel well, so they are perfect and look great.

And I agree, 285/65/20 is the size I'm most fond of, problem is that I have only found 2 tires in that size. One being the BFG AT which I am considering, the other is the duratrac which I'm in no way interested in. I run nothing but Goodyear tires on my work truck and I think they are a poor quality tire. While I have read nothing but praise for the duratrac, I am just not interested in Goodyear tires.

Really? The duratrac is a whole nutha animal. I absolutely HATE my oem goodyears as they are pure garbage but duratracs are a different breed. Every tire manufacturer has it's cheap economy tires and their higher quality, more expensive tires.

I just put 6 new silent armor tires on my work truck and they are pathetic. We also run the SRAs and have tons of flats. I'm not saying all good year tires are bad but the ones I have experienced have performed poorly IMO.

Ya the SRAs are a weak tire. I would go BFG then. I guess that's your only other option.

I would choose Duratracs over BFGs because they are better in mud and snow and they look better. I run them on my DD Bronco.
However I run 295/60/20 (34.45")Trail Grapplers on my F150. I'm pretty sure Nitto is the only co. that makes that size. IMO, 275's look a little narrow on a tire 34" tall or taller.
