Well today is the day...I'm putting on my bilstein 5100's and putting some larger tires on. I'm going to get the Nitto Trail Grapplers

I've read so many posts that I'm even more confused so the only thing I know to do is to ask and see what feedback I get.

I am concerned with rubbing...I just cannot stand it and I work on construction sites with lots of maneuvering having to happen to get around them.

When it comes to rubbing and 295's, will the 295/55 compared to the 295/60 really be any different? I think the 55's will be a little less of a chance of rubbing but I don't want to make a bad decision.

When I had my 305/55/20's installed, the installer told me that it would be possible to run a set of these on the stock wheels (8.5' wide, 44mm offset), but that it would rub on the control arm at full lock without a spacer. Maybe someone else can chime in and comfirm.

I put on a set of 20x9 wheels with a 25mm offset and 305/55/20 trail grapplers, and I have zero rubbing with room to spare. Really happy with these tires, not nearly as loud as I thought they'd be...

First of all, LOVE the truck...setup looks nice. I will be getting my 20" wheels powdercoated black some day soon. Until then, I just wanted to do the 2" bilstein 5100's and some 295's. I've read so many people have really good luck with them and not rubbing...but others have a slight rubbing.

My real question is, IF someone has rub...do they think a 55 would get rid of the rub compared to a 60 ratio tire? I realize the 285 is the way to go but they don't make a 285/55 trail grappler, even though the website says they do.

Check out NASSTY's truck on here. He runs 295/60 trails. Looks badass.

I don't get any rubbing with my 295/60/20's. But I've read about some people rubbing a little when turned to full lock and others don't.

The difference in the tires you are talking about is 1" in diameter. With the 60 series some people have reported a slight rub, the 55 series tire will definitely will not rub.

I would go with the 60 series though. Thats actually the size that i am considering and i have an fx2, i dont mind some trimming.

I have 295/60R20 Toyo M/T's with a Rancho quickLIFT Loaded and get slight rubbing on the drivers side front fender flare back side (the painted part). Just barely, but it does sometimes.
