Default Suspension Questions

Hi ya'll,

I have a question about payload capacities and suspensions.

I have the 2010 4x4 XLT SCAB 6' bed with the 5.4 and Tow 1. Only mods are Westin step bars and a bug deflector.

My truck's weight with me and full fuel weighs 5920 pounds, so that leaves payload capacity at 1280. I have a travel trailer that has a hitch weight of 880 with a W/D hitch. The rest of the trailer's weight of 5440 is on the axles and well within the towing rating.

My problem is that doesn't leave me much payload once I add my lady and pooch and I won't get into how I've got carefully pack the trailer to avoid adding anymore weight to the tongue.

1) What is the weak link on the truck in regards to payload capacity? Is it the axle? Springs? Shocks?

2) What potential upgrades (other than buying a new truck) are there for increasing payload capacity? Airbags? Additional springs?

Thanks for any information.

Tim
