Default Instrument cluster light problem

Hey all, I have 2011 fx4 with 25k miles and lately I have been noticing that my lights in just the gauge cluster stay lit after i turn the truck off. Like today I got home from work at around 4 o clock, go to leave at 7 and I look inside and the gauge cluster was still lit up.. Anyone have problems with this?

rosko082391 - Yes last night when it happened the key was in the ignition.
Welp ... It's WAD (Working As Designed).
  • turning-off the ignition.
  • leaving the key in the ignition.
  • and exiting the vehicle ...
will cause the BCM and PCM to wake-up every 15minutes or so. Not sure what the purpose is (gentle reminder that the key is in the ignition (?), another way to discharge the battery (?) ... ).

Fix is to remove the key from the ignition.
