26 vs. 36 Gallon Tank
#21
I think it has everything to do with the design of the fuel pump/filter/lift used on the Ecoboost. It's different from the other engines.

I assumed the lack of 36 gal tank availability (with the EB) had to do with the published load and towing numbers...granted that the 10 gallons of fuel only limit the max load of the vehicle by slightly more than 60lbs, but perhaps the engineers were given the marching orders to maximize.
Makes me wonder how the max payload/tow capacity is computed (what the basic weight of the theoretical F150 is)...I'm sure that there is a federal regulation that stipulates that the maximum fuel capacity of the vehicle must be used in the weight computations??

My beef isn't with having to stop, it is that there are a lot of places in Alaska (where I live) where there either isn't gas, or it isn't the highest quality, or is really expensive. If I choose to get an EB, it will mean more gas cans in the bed when towing the camper.
