My 2011 HD F-150 AWD stock tires are 275/45/22. They are almost the exact same diameter as the 275/55/20 tires that come stock on the 4WD Ford's with factory 20's. My oldest son has 305/45/22 tires on his truck. You get a little more sidewall with the 305's, but they killed his MPG's and my pocket. LOL. There very few tire options for 22" wheels. I have not been impressed with the way the Pirellis that came stock on my HD F-150 handle the snow. We have only had one real snow so far this year, so it's a little soon to pass judgement on these Pirelli's. They are a performance tire, so I don't expect them to handle snow and ice like a winter or all terrain tire. If you are looking for 22" tires that are very close to or exactly the same overall outside diameter as your stock 20" tires, I suggest either 275/45/22 or 285/45/22. In my opinion, the Bridgestone Dueler Alenza's (sp?) are a really good all season tire. We have them on my wife's Yukon and they have been fantastic in the MI winters. My next set of tires for my Ford will be the Bridgestone's. If you live in an area that doesn't get much snow and you keep the truck on the pavement, the Pirelli's would be fine.

Anybody have comments of Firestone Destination ST's. They are comparable to the Pirelli's I have on now. I'd live an AT but will spent all my time on pavement except for the northeast snow we get here in nyc.

To the OP.. You can get 22 inch tires with the rim protector that will help with minor "curbage". The stock Pirreli's have this and have saved my rims from a couple curb checks.
I drove mine in about 4 inches of snow over the weekend with the stock Pirelli's. I was actually quite surprised on how well they did in the snow. I knew going in that they wouldn't be as good as my old AT's but for such a crappy tire I was impressed.
