20x12 Wheels with 35's
My 2009 Ford F150 Lariat 4x4 with a 2.5in Rough Country Leveling kit is in need of new tires. I would like to buy 20x12 wheels with a -44mm offset wrapped with 35x12.50 tires. I expect a little rub that could be fixed by triming. However, I am wondering if it may rub against the upper control arm or anything else? Has anyone tried doing something like this with just a 2.5in leveling kit?

My 20x10 -24 rub with 35's and that's with a 6 inch lift. They only rub on bumps with the tires turned, but with a level I'd think you'd be all over your bumper unless you are willing to cut a lot of metal.

Thank-you
Thank-you! I also did a little more looking into it and found a similar set up with just minor triming so it should work!

Are you sure that is a similar setup? You said you wanted a 20x12 wheel right? That width is significantly different than what those guys in the thread were running. Especially if you push that wide of a wheel out really far you are going to be hitting your front bumper.
I could be missing something you said, but I reread everything and think you are going to have some fitment issues

The tire size and offset is what really matters here. The tire is always first to rub being that it is wider than the wheel. Also the negative offset should push the tire, and wheel away from the inner fender where many others where rubbing. My biggest fear would be rubbing the front bumper but so far nobody on the forum has run into that issue with the 2.5 leveling kit or greater that I know of.

That's what I was pointing out. I don't think you'll have clearance issues with the inner fender or CA, but the front bumper. Like I said, I have a 6inch lift, 20x10 -24 offset rims with 35's and don't clear the front bumper by much. I don't think I would clear a 20x12 -44.

I know a dude on instagram that has a McGaughey's 6.5in Lift with 20x12s and 35s and he had to trim a ton of plastic and I think even some metal.

Here are a few photos to give you an idea of how much space you are working with. You'll be sticking out further and have less lift so if I were a beating man I'd think there be some bumper trimming.
