I think payload will probably go up, but towing will probably go down. The heavier the trailer gets and the lighter the truck the more the truck is going to get pushed I imagine.

LOL They did. My 99 F250LD has the F250HD transmission and 10.25 7 lug rear end. Stronger torsion rods, LT tires etc.
I'm going to get 2014 XLT but going to keep the 250LD. I need something to keep my '89 fullsize bronco company. All three ordered from factory.

Even the engine in my 07 Ram Cummins was made in Mexico; the tag said so. I loved the 5.9L, economical and strong.


You say the F-150 doesn't feel as "planted" as the Cummins......try a newer Ram 1500 with coil spring rear suspension. I had one it was terrible when towing. In my opinion the F-150 has a way more stable suspension and the EB is about the closest engine you can get to a diesel.

Just some insight.
I spend a lot of time on the cumminsforum.com and the only head gasket issues I see are with modified trucks. And it seems like the stock turbo has high drive pressures that doesn't like a lot of extra boost and is hard on head gaskets.

Even the 5.9s don't like boost north of 40 lbs.

Also head studs are the fix for most.

Turbo issues seem few and far between.

Seems like the duramax and cummins issues are all related to the emissions stuff. Sensors, def issues, etc

I almost never see thous what's the last year they made them?

You speak the truth! I loved my 5.9, but it rode like it was on steel wheels, had to make sure you didn't over eat and go for a ride!!
