Question 2015+ SCab hinges on older SCab

I searched the forums for ten minutes and can't find anything about this;

I just looked at the new Scabs, and the rear doors open flat against the bedside because they now have Double Hinges. I'm sure that's not breaking news by any stretch, but herein lies my ???...

Has anyone out there successfully grafted some New Model Scab hinges onto our body style? I would REALLY like to do that to mine and any hints would be very welcomed.

Subd.

EDIT: Just looked up the super cab rear door hinges for a 15 and they're about $200 per side. Don't think it's worth it even if they did fit but that's me.

Putting groceries in the back seat isn't fun AT ALL when some fool parks Right Flippin' Next to my truck, even though I parked 12 spaces away from the nearest parked vehicle. Flat to the bed would make it MUCH easier to load stuff/kids/dogs. Plus "Cool Factor".

I get the cool factor but wouldn't the door still have to swing all the way out as it already does and keep going to 180° instead of stopping at a 90° angle? Or does it do some sort of snake move?

Paging: @johnday how do your rear doors swing open?

OPENING the doors isn't the problem, at least not a HUGE problem, the new ones just continue opening normally.... You have a SCab, try to open both front and rear doors while standing right in front of them and don't move. Not a lot of room. Now, try to get stuff from a shopping cart INTO the cab while a car is there in the way. Both Front and Rear access INTO the open cab area is blocked by the doors. Both doors opened next to a close parker is basically a cage.

Hey Robert. My doors open the same as a 12th gen, but you're right, they keep going until they're almost flat against the box, with no chance of hitting, I'm thinking it's about 170 degrees, may be a tad more.

That's what I thought. Thanks for the clarification.

No matter what kind of vehicle you have, if some asshat parks too close your SOL. I know and accept that fact. Different hinges aren't a solution unless you go full blown Lamborghini style hinges like this https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&....0.-1YkT_w6rmU Good luck paying for that mod.

Suggest you do like the rest of the motoring world does in this situation, get in and back out enough to fully open your doors.

Leave a nasty note for the idiot that decided to initiate your problem. Been using this one since the 70's.

So trade your truck in for a 15+ problem solved,.....or is it?

Embellishing your post in edits does not look favorable on your part.

Don't want to spend an additional $30k just for hinges when my truck is perfectly fine.

Does "embellish" also include adding pertinent information or clarification???? Oh, I'm sorry, guess I will leave them lacking necessary content and with unclear subject matter. 'Sides, WHY would it not look favorable? I'd assume that editing a post would ensure that the post was superior to the pre-edited post. Ebsdies, hwte fi ym plespnlgi swa abd?
I'd ASSUME that a more complete, better composed post would be MUCH more preferable than a shoddy, quickly typed post. Of course, I may be wrong on this matter.

Edit:
Nothing, I just wanted to Edit this.
