2015 engines announced yet?
anyone have any news on the new power plants if there will be any? I am hoping to get an EB with max tow payload and wondering if I should by 13 or wait for new model to come out.
Thanks

nothing has been announced for '14 or '15. It's expected Ford will announce a new truck based on the Atlas Concept shown earlier this year for MY2015 but they've been pretty tight lipped on specs & time frame. right now it's wait and see.
My personal guess is that the 13s will be held over with little to no change until the new body style starts shipping.

Retired and loving it!
The rumors have held that they will move the EB up some in torque and HP (around 400 hp and 450 torque) and add stop/start technology to it as well to aid mpg.......seems like that would be expensive though -- especially considering how far they may go with the aluminum body structure.
As stated though --- anything at this point does not even rise to the level of an educated guess......even calling information about the 2015's a "rumor" is giving the information too much credibility.

I haven't heard bout the EB and I'm not 100% on the 5.0 in the truck but I know the 5.0 in the stang will be direct injection with 496 hp don't remember tq numbers.. So I'm sure the trucks will get the direct injection as well

If they offer a small EB V8 to kill the new GM 6-2 I'll be the first to own one! Lol.

The new models will be out fall of 2014, so we are less than a year and a half away. At this point, I might wait if you're happy with what you have. Only new motor Ive read about was a smaller EB coming out, and possibly only one of the V8's surviving. The current EB, like stated earlier, will be upgraded some.

Why does it have to be a v8 EB.... If the new v6 EB kills it...
To quote Janis Joplin " too much is not enough".

If Ford really wanted to bolster fuel economy, they would drop in a 3.0L turbo diesel and stop messing around.
I had the MB 3.0 in my Jeep Grand Cherokee, and with only 5 gears it got 26mpg on the highway. I had a chip tune on it and it cranked out a dyno measured 444ft/lbs at 1600 rpm. The same engine in the Mercedes ML350 got almost 30mpg with a six speed tranny.
