If all I wanted to do was carry my snow blower in for a tune up in the spring, then the Colorado might be a choice.
The max tow rating for this Colorado is only 7,000 pounds, and the max engine has only 305 hp and ONLY 269 lb/ft of torque, with a 3.42 axle ratio. Want to bet what rpm this will be turning hauling 7,000 pounds uphill? I'll bet this combination cannot even maintain highway speed.....but then again, that's just like the way GM sets up their 5.3.
It's a good choice though for say new drivers.

I drove the new Canyon. It drove nice for a small pickup, but my god it's ugly. The way the bottom of the rear doors angles in towards the front of the truck ruins the look, makes it look stubby and disproportionate. Plus the euro-light style taillights and the huge rear bumper steps. No thanks.

I didn't need a huge truck, so I had considered holding out for this. However, my Tremor meets my needs while still fitting in the garage, while having a far more powerful engine. Some of the reviews I've read suggest the V6 in the Colorado is powerful enough, but rev-happy since it's the car/suv 3.6 engine. I was hoping they'd use V6 from the Silverado, which has a bit less HP, but more TQ and is a better fit for a truck in my opinion. Oh well, happy with my Tremor so it doesn't really matter.

For a small truck, I'd still rather have a Tacoma.

As ugly as it is...it still looks better than the last gen Colorado/Canyon.

I was hopeful for the F150 here! My buddy with his RAM always rubs it in that RAM won 2 years in a row.
That was totally out of sympathy for it being a frenchy truck.....

Perhaps -- but I don't want to be stuck behind one on highway 101 when it's towing 7,000 pounds.
I wonder how high-tech the V6 engine sounds in the Colorado at 6,000 rpm in 2nd gear? Towing 7,000 pounds, the owner is going to find out in short order.

Before I got my F150, I had a 2007 Mazda B3000 - I had no intention of ever using it to tow anything.

I traded it in on my 2010 F150 when wife and I decided to get a travel Trailer.

Maybe if Ford had actually released the new F150 when they were supposed to, MT would have given it the crown.

Non issue because people dont buy midsize trucks to tow 7000 lbs.
