2014 towing help!!!

You will definitely want a max-tow. HD payload would be awesome too but you won't find one on the lot. Hell, the max-tow seem to be few and far between. My dealer who is the biggest F-series dealer in IL only had one max-tow on the lot out of about 150 trucks. They had to find a truck for me because the one they had wouldn't work for me

I'm not looking forward to hooking up my TT with the factory goodyears but new tires aren't in the budget. Wish I would have had the dealer swap them out for some LTs and wrap it into the payment

Max payload and tow! Like others have said, upgrade tires ASAP!

Retired and loving it!
If they do take your truck back, you can make that part of the deal for the new one.

You don't want just max tow ..you need HD ..( 7 lug Rims so you know you have it )
Second you need 2 wheel drive non Screw ( to be even close to your numbers )
You need a F250
Please check out Fords site on towing

And if you are bound on F150 ONLY GET HD

Well just got back a few minutes ago. They sent us back with the same truck for the night and they did a truck search for a good towing package and 3.73 gears. On our way back the salesman called and said they found one and will have it in the dealership tomorrow. He didn't have any specifics as to the model or anything but he did say it had 3.73s which was our biggest concern. So we will be back tomorrow to swap trucks.
Thanks for all the info guys. was a big help!
Are the tires really that big of a deal? With all the research and money put into these trucks was tire strength really overlooked?

again thanks for the input.
we will be asking if they have a max tow or HD model. Is one better than the the other? I just did some quick research and I'm not sure if these are even the correct names. And in regards to why a 1/2 ton over a 3/4 ton, we do drive it daily so that's why we wanted better mpg and cheaper fuel over a diesel. I meant main purpose in my first post as to why we chose a truck instead of an suv or car.
oh and I got the exact numbers on our TT.
UVW= 7520...............dry
GVWR= 9390.............total
length= 36'8".............including bumper, ladder, tongue, etc.
hitch weight= 750......tongue weight

As for towing i had a 24' enclosed race hauler, Dmax pulled it mint and didnt even act like it was back there really, ecoboost wont pull it in 6th gear and was pushed all over the road with the crap tires that came on it. even going to E range tires it was no where near the tow vehicle in regards to stabilty or power let alone the single digit MPG it gets towing that trailer...
Trying to pull a 36' TT at the weight you are talking about after owning and pulling the same trailer with a 3/4 ton truck i think you will be severely dissapointed with any F-150 configuration that you buy.
How many miles do you pull this TT every year? the ecoboost will be returning single digit MPG with your TT, you really need to evaluate how many miles you plan to tow per year VS how many DD miles you drive per year and got from there to decide what to buy.
good luck!
