So Im in the market to get a new rig. I currently have a 10 screw XLT but am looking at the new 14 STX. I really want an FX but my wallet just doesnt agree with me on that one. Can anyone advise if the Ecoboost is available in any of the STX models or is it just the 3.7 and 5.0's? I was at the dealer today and my salesman said it was available but could not find any online or in his inventory. Any pro's vs Cons on the Eco vs 5.0?

Negative! There are very few salesdudes who actually know their products! 3.7 and 5.0 only. Want an easy way to figure it out? Go build one on ford.com to see exactly what you can get with the STX. There are only a few realistic options.
If i were to get one, it would be a 5.0 supercab with the STX Sport option and an e locker.

You can't go wrong with the 5.0. It's a great engine in the STX.

5.0 or 3.7 only... I wanted the ecoBoost as well but wanted the color matched bumpers and grill and black interior. The FX was just too much $$$$. I came from a 2012 xlt and there are a few things I miss. It might not be that noticeable...

-no automatc headlights
-does not have the newer 4.2 LCD in the gauge cluster. It has the plain cluster like the xl model.
-no adjustable pedals
-manual seats
