Default 2014 Ford F-150 - Loud Fan

With the summer months back and temps >90 the loud fan has returned.

Is this by design or is there an issue with a switch or sensor? Is my AC pressure too high?

When it's hot outside and I'm running the AC it seems like it is almost always. It will cut off for a minute or two, but then right back loud.

Yea I noticed mine doing the same thing, check your coolant level and your Freon levels too. That help mine from being super loud.

Was your coolant level low? Was your AC level high?

I bought the truck used in December so yea both where low, but I only checked the low side of the AC, been meaning to check the high side but the loud fan stopped when I put both Freon and Coolant in.

That's normal operation. The fan has two speeds, low and high. When your A/C is on and it's hot outside the computer will turn the fans on high speed to get as much air through the A/C condenser has it can. This lowers pressure in the A/C system and gets the air colder.

On the F-150 the low speed fan is similar to high speeds on cars. The fans also have to be able to keep the coolant temperature under control when you're towing heavy loads on a hot summer day. The electric fans on high speed can pull as much air through the condenser and radiator as an engaged clutch fan under acceleration. On those days you'll appreciate the loud fan.
