Default 2014 f150 XLT

One of my local dealers told me on Monday that the 2014 XLT will have a leather seat option. Anyone else hear this?

too bad the XLT doesn't have powerfold mirror option yet.

Unless I overlooked it. PowerFold is a must as my garage doors are only 8' wide.

It might be just me but it seems they have been slow and quiet on the 2014 launch. I would have figured they would be out already considering they are going to be pumping up the 2015s in 6 months...

Yes, there is a leather option for the XLT for 2014 MY.

You won't see the '14's out for quite some time according to this:

http://www.donlen.com/buildstart-trucks-ford.aspx

Production does not even start until the end of October meaning December shipment is likely the earliest.

That's interesting. I never thought they would put leather in the XLT

My guess is that 2014 being an abbreviated model year, Ford will produce less pricey high-end versions like Platinums & Limiteds, and try to lure customers in the mid-range by offering loaded-out XLT's with leather, HID's etc....

It's not a bad strategy, as most people that spend $40k+ on a truck, don't NEED a truck, they simply want one and knowing the '15 is just around the bend will wait for that.

That said, people that NEED a truck now are looking for the most bang for the buck and less fully loaded ones. I just don't get why companies don't offer all of the goodies like this earlier in the model run? I would have loved to have had factory leather & HID's as my only two must haves on my XLT.
