That's because you bought a VW not because it's a diesel. Keep your filter clean and you will be fine. If you keep your filter cleaned on a regular basis the rest of the fuel injection system will be fine and chug away happily.

2015 seems to be the logical makeover year for Ford. Look at the past generations/body styles of the F150:
86-91
92-96
97-03
04-08
09-14 or 15.

Plus I'm pretty sure the whole "mandatory black box" **** is still in effect for 2015 which would make even more sense for Ford to wait until then.
