2014 F-150 Lariat: 4" or 6" Lift and Brand
Hey folks - I'm new to the forum. I had a 2010 F150 Lariat with a 2" Leveling kit, Moto 961 (chrome with red inserts) and 295/70/18 Terra Grapplers. I traded the truck last week but I kept the wheels and tires.
My new truck is a 2014 F150 Lariat and this time I want to go with a lift, but but there are so many options that I'm mostly left confused.
Does anyone have a straight-on side pic of a 4" or 6" lift with 295/70/18's? I'm going to upgrade eventually to 20" rims with a different offset so they stick out further on the sides, but when I do, I will stick to a 35" tire.
Also, the place I'm taking my truck to insists on a BDS lift (which is the most expensive one they carry). How does the BDS compare to the factory ride and to others lifts?
Thanks in advance!

I'm going in the opposite direction ... my 2005 Lariat had a 6" ProComp lift and my 2008 FX4 had the same lift, but my 2014 will have a more conservative 2.5" kit.
Higher lifts (all things being equal) create more body sway by virtue of the higher center of gravity and I'm personally done with the resulting ride attributes. Perhaps I'm just getting older, but to answer your question: Rancho and ProComp are solid lifts; only other problem with a 6" lift is that 35s start to look scrawny versus a 4" lift that seems to have a more balanced or proportionate fit (subjectively speaking). Rancho makes a 4" setup and you can easily clear the 35s that you're looking to retain. Also had Rancho on a Chevy Colorado and Jeep Wrangler ... only positive experiences (i.e. no failures) and I wheeled the Jeep often.

Thanks guys! I'm curious, DangFoo, how you like your Duratracs. I'm going to move away from the Terra Grapplers and my first instinct is the Trail Grappler but I want to stay open to ideas!

To the OP,I'll agree going 6".For the money, time and teardown of your truck you might as well get the extra height.BDS and their sister co. Zone,McGaughy ,RCX are great lifts.

And agreeing with Mikey- all are great lifts. I have an rcx, but if you want to stay away from spacers, go with bds, or zone. If you wanna go real nice, get coilovers

I love my 4in Rancho Lift. I love the look of the 35s and 17s with the 6in Lift. What I like about the Rancho kit is that if I want to go with the 6in I can just swap out for the RS7000MTs and 5in blocks and I have a 6in Lift.
