The Ram has had a SOLID transmission for years now. the 545RFE trans has proven itself as being very tough. The 8 speed is unproven, but I should have said best spec transmission.
There's a lot to be said for having the most horsepower, and being tied with the ecoboost for mileage rating. I am no luddite, but I'll take the sweet sounding, proven Hemi, with far less to go wrong (IMO), than the twin turbo 3.5. The real letdown is the rest of the truck, the Ram has proven itself to be the worst quality truck.

You probably need an adaptive reset. I have a 1 ton chevy gasser as a work vehicle. It sure shifts smooth........ and slowly, at the wrong times, and it slips, and clunks a lot (sounds). And it is saddled with GM's garbage torque management software. Pure garbage. The F150's occasionally screwy shifts are far less irritating.

Too sum it up....if you want the worst quality pick up with the best proven power plant...buy a dodge....

The quality part of the ram come in when you go to higher models. My dads Lone Star is built pretty well. I have noticed a few things wrong with it but there is virtually nothing wrong with my grandad's. He has an 09 Laramie.

Yep.

It's just too bad there is so many fanboys on this site, that one cannot rationally discuss the facts when comparing the Hemi to the EB.

Maybe but I was talking about the unproven 8 speed.

I'll take my Livernois tuned EB that hasn't had any issues in the 2 years that I've owned it. It would destroy a tuned Hemi. Can you even tune a Hemi?
