Default 2014 5.0 rebuild

I had a cylinder 7 misfire code on my 80,000 mile F150 screw. Tried changing plugs and switching coil to no effect. CIL would go on and off and truck ran fine. Didnt think much of it. Now its in the shop getting a valve job and heads machined to the tune of $3500. So much for built ford tough.

That is very unusual for a Coyote. What was wrong with the valves if you don't mind me asking?

That's what I was thinking. Does it have anything aftermarket? Tune, supercharger, turbo?

Yeah sounds irregular, thought they'd solved the our-of-round cylinders by 2013 sometime. Be interesting to hear more.

A valve job and machining the heads wouldn't be done to deal with out-of-round cylinders.

Subbed. Curious how valve job and "head machining" will fix a miss....

That sucks. Owned 3 5.0Ls (200k, 265k, and now 307k) with no issues. Current truck has 307k and while it knocks, it runs great.
