Default 2013 XLT - windshield wipers active when switch is off

Hi there--

I have a 2013 XLT supercrew. 35,000 mi. Within the last month the wipers have been turning on and off randomly, without me ever touching the switch or using the blinker. Before it was rare (once a week), now it is becoming more frequent (happens daily).

Is this a common problem in the 2011+? I saw a possible fix for it online but it is for the pre-2011 without the integrated stalks. Wondering if it is better just to take it in to the dealer, but they'll probably just recommend a new switch....

Thanks

3yr/36000miles bumper to bumper warranty will cover it. It's a common issue, even has a TSB about it, TSB 15-0061 Replacement of multifunction switch when wipers operate with switch in off position.

Just had mine done a couple of weeks ago for the same issue. First warranty "claim" on the truck after 1.5 years.

I did it on my 2011 a while back. 15 min job(I think 3 screws for the lower steering column, and three for the multifunction switch). Part was $35 three or so years ago.
