Default 2013 XLT Grill

Wanted my grill frame to match truck. All black center didn't look right with chrome bumper, so I painted the center section black and put the chrome C and = back on. I like the way it turned out. Here is a link to some shots of my truck. Lighting on the front view makes the reds look off, that's just an illusion. https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resi...JBkQoJu0cFEyew

Damn that looks sweet, I have been thinking about doing the same thing since I got my truck, now I know for certain I want to, but was on the fence about how to make the black paint stick to the chrome plating.

Did you sand blast the painted areas or?

I love the color matched grille surround. That's what I want mine to look like with gray. I'm guessing yours came like that though. My grille background pieces came in black already so it looks identical to yours but with my surround also chrome. I hate the chrome but didn't want to downgrade to a XL.

Yeah mine also came with the chrome surround. I initially planned to pull it off and have it painted. But I got in a rush and busted all the tabs. So I picked up a blue surround off of ebay for $80 (I was lucky to find that) and had it painted for an additional $100. The background of my grill was grey. After pulling it apart I found that was factory painted and was a real rough paint cover. So I just cleaned it up and painted it black.

Nice job on the grill mod. Looks a LOT better than the stocker.
