Holy Christ! I wouldn't have said anything, had I known that...
I hope that is it.

I heard someone mention this thread elsewhere so I had to come check it out. I've got a 2013 I bought with 17,000 kms almost a year ago. For the last 6 months at least, the front rotors have been vibrating. It isn't too terrible yet but it's very noticeable. I'm at about 35,000 kms now and it's starting to bug me enough to think about doing a brake job =(

Oh and I have had 3 root canals, 1 crown and 1 extraction =P

My 11' at 45K were terrible and changed them out. The pads still had plenty of pad left but they were cracked pretty bad. Could have gotten by with just the front but ended up changing out all four with the powerstop rotors and pads.

same story here. bought a used 11 with 24k miles almost 2 years ago. Warranty history showed previous owner already had rotors turned once due to "vibration when braking" somewhere around 10k under warranty. I made it maybe 5k miles more before the vibrations started coming back. I'm now at 48K miles and I just couldn't take it anymore. I am a Ford dealership parts guy, so I generally stand by OE replacements for everything, but I knew if I went back with stock stuff I would have the same problem again waaay tooo soon.
So after MANY frustrating hours of both forum and general research, I decided almost anything would be better than stock.
I was planning on buying the Powerstop 1-click brake kit from Rockauto, but at the last minute, I decided to check on Amazon. Not only was it much cheaper simply because of the free shipping on Amazon, but I also decided to take a chance on a discounted "used" set. The description said the parts were new, but the packaging was damaged. looking at the Amazon reviews it seemed like almost everyone complained that the boxes/packages were destroyed upon receipt, but the parts inside seemed to be intact so I figured I'd take a chance. It worked out well. In the end I ended up with the complete set of brakes all the way around for $309 plus sales tax (amazon has a location in MD, so I get hit with sale tax :-( ).
I have only had them installed for about 500 miles now, but so far so good. I've never been convinced or a fan of the slotted/drilled thing. Always felt it was just a gimmick to get you to pay extra for less material. But for the price I felt I couldn't go wrong.
In a few thousand miles if I still have decent brakes with no pulsation or vibrations I may have to change my thoughts a bit.

Fellow Forders
Lots of discussion's makes me wonder.
here is my problem left truck set in yard for 10 days no issues before, I was checking the fuel module and happy to report mine is all plastic on my 09 f 150 , anyway got in truck yesterday ,and leaving driveway I NOTICED A STUTTERING WHEN APPLYING BRAKES DROVE 30 MILE AND NEVER WENT AWAY. my thinking ....got a bit of rust ,pad to rotor ,can feel on every rotation. A buddie a Mr. good wrench guy says the same thing and to drive couple of days to see if the spot wears away. That is what I am gonna do , any other fellows done this with out replacing? It happened with the sitting issues ,all of a sudden.70k and not drive much
thanks for imput

You should be fine. that is very common for rust to build up on the rotors after sitting a few days.

Yeah, your pads will sand the rotors back down eventually.

I don't think brakes have ever been covered under the factory warranty after the first 12 months. All Ford brake rotor are manufactured using the same process. The most common denominator for warped rotors is how they are used. This is another commonly discussed subject.

Rotors are certainly covered under warranty, but not like most parts. If a problem develops, they are machined. After machining if they are under specs they are then replaced. Because they are considered a wear item they are generally only covered for the first 12k miles or so, but it is also something that is kind of left at the individual dealer's discretion as to whether or not they will cover it beyond that time frame.
