2013 USB Sync Update?

My 2013 has the blocks that beep as you get closer already...got my letter in the mail about downloading it, so apparently mine is out of date. The site says to load the new card if you have nav, but no new card was supplied. I assume those with NAV had no issue with the update and didn't have to load a new card in it? I have an A4 card right now.

Is it just me or was there an update to the grids on screen while in reverse. It now has blocks that fill in within the grid lines while getting closer to an object. Was that always there and I just never noticed it or is it new? If they can change that, I wish the next update would allow the grid lines to follow the steering of the truck instead of staying fixed. Overall, the update for me installed without a hitch. I do love that the you can now touch anywhere in the zones while on the homepage instead of right where it says the name of the zone.
Haven't updated the software. Don't think I'm going to.

I have NAV and had no issues with the update. My 2013 had the blocks as well but I had to enable that option.
So far I haven't noticed a huge difference, but maybe a little more responsive.
It's a good update, but I'm wondering how people with no "tech skills" will fare with it. I'm thinking about the many people who don't know how to copy/paste or send an email, now they have to download a zip file, unpack it, lose the index file, copy the needed files to a suitable flash drive, and then install the update.
I would imagine that dealers will be getting a lot of requests to perform this update.

I haven't programmed anything into the Nav, but I'll have to try that.

Mine didnt say anything about losing the index file, just said to copy all the files in the unzipped folder that popped up, so that is what I did. Had three files, with one being the folder containing all the files.

Mine updated just fine, but it won't send the file to Ford to update the version. They file wasn't where it showed, and the file I do have doesn't want to upload right. I guess I will have to call.

The thing I like most about the update is that Sirius now shows artist/song title while on the home screen. I believe that my backup camera is also a bit less glitchy and the touchscreen is a bit more responsive.
