While your complaints are all valid and certainly understandable from a user point of view, it might be helpful to you to get a better understanding of how BT works so you can separate the problems.

You can think of the BT interaction with the truck and phone (or other device) as separate activities, each with their own set of commands and problems. For example, when you are talking on the phone over BT, you are using a specific BT connection that manages just the talking part of the phone interaction. There are separate ones for controlling the interactions and other ones for actually using the channel. These are called "stacks" in BT-speak.

There is one for controlling the phone (dialing, managing your contacts, etc) and one for when you talk on the phone.

There is a separate set for the music...one for managing the music (starting, stopping, pausing...all the controls) and another one for playing the music.

There's are the main 4 stacks that you are using regularly.

When the truck says "no BT device connected" it means for that specific action. Sounds to me like the phone part is working ok, but the music part isn't. The music stack in the truck had a lot of problems and is significantly improved by the latest Sync/MFT update.

Hope this helps a bit....

Thank you for the reply. It does help put some of it in layman for me. That much I appreciate.

I'm actually having less problems with the music side of things than I am with the hands free part. Case in point. When I end a call, the screen shows the call to be over, but the music stays muted and the unit is completely locked up for 3-4 minutes after the call is over. Usually have to shut the unit off and power back up to fix it. Sometimes that doesn't work. I'm just at it's mercy.

Another example. Operating the truck for thirty minutes or langer. (Just a random number to show there ample time for the unit and phone to connect to each other). Try to make a call via hands free. Screen and phone both show everything to be status quo. After 20-30 seconds I realize I haven't made a connection yet due to now hearing the phone ringing over the speakers. Then I hear a faint voice coming from my phone saying "hello? Hello? Hello?" I then have to pick the phone up and talk directly into it even though I dialed through the screen and it shows to have been connected. Not to mention I've already made previous calls on the same drive using the hands free with no issues. This scenario happens a LOT.

Agian, "Fordservice" I invite you to comment. You've replied to others on this thread. I pay taxes too.

the craziest thing happened while i was driving today (4.2" sync + iphone5 verizon).

so while driving my phone didn't connect to bluetooth. I went to connect it and it accidentally switched over to the options section. while there a new feature showed up on my phone "show notification". Now I can see, read and send texts via sync...

but on the sync site it says my phone isn't compatible...

WHAT DOES IT MEAN?!?!?!

Ford's site must have a bug that isn't showing confirmations on the first page.

Yep. MFT and the latest update is Gen2-V3.6.2
I got it downloaded and installed easily. My point was that the Ford site does confirm it in the details of my account, but not on the first page of "my account/sync software" for some reason. On that page it lists the latest confirmation date as the original build back in May. But open the details of that and it also confirms my install from last week.

Hey, Ford850 -

Do you mind sending me your VIN in a PM so I can pass this along to web support? Thanks!

Jaclyn
Jaclyn,
I noticed the Sync web site has been fixed and it now shows the correct info for my downloads and dates. Thanks for your help.
