The PAC was never able to work with the Sony/Navigation systems. It states specifically on their website that it wouldn't work. Bottom line, If you have a pre-amped system, it will not work, even for 2009-2012. The key here is to see if anyone without the Sony/Navigation system who has a 2013, has gotten this adapter to work on their non pre-amped system. PAC also said at first that their adapter wouldn't work on the 2011 or 2012, and they ate Crow on that one as they updated their website stating that it does work, just over a month ago. :-) So, it may be worth checking with the other forum members on here who have put systems into their non pre-amped 2013's to see what they used.

Should be easy on the non-ford touch (the ones that look like the 11/12 radios) - You can easily replace the head unit or just tap into it with various devices.

For the '13 with the 4" screen, I don't think you can replace the HU at the time, but you can tap into it and expand from there.

Yes I know u can do everything in the old style radios. I did it in my 2011. I just don't wanna get the new 4" screen if it isn't possible to completely re-do it. I'd rather have a truck with the base radio so I can make my system sound the way I want it to, rather than just buying the myford touch with Sony audio, cuz I know u can't do anything with those

If you are planning on replacing it anyway, why not just opt for the cheapest radio option available?

Because the lowest trim I will go to is a XLT and as far as I know, they only come with the new system. I need a screw and the STX doesn't offer one and I'm not willing to go down to a XL

Don't bother buying that pac harness for the 2013 f150 it will not work. I have a 2013 xlt 4x4 with the non sony/nav radio and the plug in the back of the radio is differant trust me I tried. Your out of luck until someone makes a new harness for the 2013.

Wow, so with a 2013 with MFT and Nav, I'm out of luck for anything but replacing the stock speakers? I'd like to replace them but would prefer an amp for added power and clarity.

Look into AudioControl. They have a few options that would allow you to tap into the factory radio speaker outputs, and then run into amps and out to whatever you want. That's what I had planned when I was considering a 2013. You'll keep the factory head unit with the screen, but can replace and amp everything else as desired.

I had the same problem when I wanted to upgrade my audio system.I have a 2013 fx4 without the navigation. I can tell u that it is possible to add an amp and sub to the new audio system. It takes a little work.. It's not plug and play and you have to t tap into your harness. I actually tapped into the harness that plugs into the oem head unit using the pac converter. If you really want to add a amp and sub now, I can take a few pictures and show u or you can wait till they come out with a 2013 harness. The stock audio sucks!! Much better with a sub and new speakers!
