I have been waiting to see some pics of this "premium" stereo. Ford should be ashamed.

I may be the only person here, but I actually love my factory Sony system. (but I am a truck guy, not a stereo sound guy) I hardly listen to loud music, and mostly Country so it sounds great to my ears at normal levels.

I can tell you though, the OEM Sony system is 10x's better than what was stock in my '11 XLT truck. I changed out my OEM XLT speakers within a week of owning that truck with a full $200 set of Alpine 6x8's and improved the sound by 20-30% over stock.

On another topic about the Sony system, does anyone know if there are any ways to adjust or tune the gain on the factory amp/ sub?

They probably are an improvement over stock, but if you are pairing up with a audio company and calling it a premium system and that's what you give out. It's pretty sad. They look like every other pair of crappy OEM speakers I have pulled out of vehicles over the years.

To the OP, are the part numbers different for the front and rear door speakers? It looks like they are but hard to see in the photo.

I agree with you 100% and if I had not owned an '11 F-150 XLT previously, I would be disappointed as well, but since the Sony is the upgrade to what was in my previous truck, I'm fairly satisfied with what it is.

The sony speakers and system sound great, actually almost as good as the $2000.00 system that I upgraded to as far as clarity. The issue that I had was once the volume reaches 1/2--3/4, the OEM amp has a safety mechanism built in to protect the speakers from getting overpowered therefore it dilutes the sound (mainly bass.) The speakers themselves sound great....my wife has a Mark Levinson system in her Lexus and up to 1/2 volume or so, this sounded almost as good.

I had several friends tell me that I was crazy for upgrading but I just wanted more volume but I had to pay $$ to get it. For most of the population, the Sony OEM system would be more than adequate.
